HAWKE SAYS SUCCESS HURTS CELEB MARRIAGES

Ethan Hawke, whose split from Uma Thurman caused a tabloid frenzy, says being part of a celebrity couple can be hard on the ego. "It's not that they're jealous of each other, it's that the person you share your life with isn't in the mood to support," the 36-year-old actor tells AMC's Shootout in an interview slated to air tomorrow. "You want to have a pity party for yourself, but they're off to the Golden Globes and you don't want to go because everyone is going to think you are jealous." Hawke and Thurman were married in 1998. She filed for divorce in 2004. The couple has two children.

UNCLE KRACKER ARRESTED ON SEX OFFENCE

Uncle Kracker, a former disc jockey for Kid Rock, was arrested early yesterday on a second-degree sex offence charge, authorities said. A Raleigh, N.C., police spokesperson said a 26-year-old woman alleged that a man committed a sexual act against her at a downtown nightclub. The 33-year-old performer was arrested at a hotel in suburban Cary. He was being held at the Wake County Jail on a $5 million bond.

LOHAN'S FIGHTING PARENTS SETTLE DIVORCE

Lindsay Lohan's estranged parents settled their long-simmering divorce yesterday, winning praise from the judge who presided over their case. "You have both demonstrated to me extraordinarily good judgment in resolving this matter as you did," state Supreme Court Justice Robert A. Ross told Michael and Dina Lohan. Terms of the divorce agreement, which will become official within 60 days, weren't disclosed.

FIRST PIRATED SIMPSONS MOVIE TRACKED

The first known pirated copy of The Simpsons Movie to make it onto the Internet was tracked to a home raided by Australian police yesterday, authorities said. Police ordered a 21-year-old Sydney man to appear in court in October when he will be formally charged, the Australian Federal Police said. Details of the likely charge and penalties have not been made public. The illegal Simpsons copy was the first on the Internet and was recorded by a cellphone. It was illegally downloaded more than 110,00 times within 72 hours, officials said.

WINEHOUSE CANCELS AUGUST CONCERTS

Amy Winehouse has pulled the plug on her August concerts after being hospitalized last week for "severe exhaustion." Her spokesperson said the 23-year-old British soul singer was putting her touring commitments on hold "in order to address her health issues."

BOLLYWOOD STARS ANNOUNCE MUSICAL TOUR

Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan were mobbed by delirious fans at the downtown Royal York Hotel in Toronto yesterday where they were on hand to announce the Unforgettable Tour. The show will premiere next summer in Toronto, Abhishek Bachchan told a news conference, since the city is home to so many passionate fans of Bollywood cinema. The show will also travel to Sydney, Cairo, London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore and Hong Kong.
